Frequently Asked Questions

Is Kiva Container qualified to supply aerospace packaging?

Yes. Kiva Container is AS9100D / ISO 9001:2015 certified by IAPMO SCB. Our quality management system covers the documentation, traceability, and process control requirements for aerospace supplier programs. We regularly supply packaging to aerospace customers and can support supplier qualification packages.

What types of aerospace packaging does Kiva Container make?

We make thermoformed component trays, corrugated plastic bins and totes, ESD-safe packaging for avionics, Class A laminated containers, large-format pallet systems for structural parts, and integrated corrugated-plus-thermoformed packaging systems — all AS9100D certified.

Can Kiva Container provide Class A surface packaging for aerospace?

Yes. We apply Tyvek, Spunguard, and brushed polyester laminate surfaces to corrugated plastic packaging for aerospace Class A applications. These surfaces minimize particle generation and are resistant to handling damage.

Does Kiva Container make ESD-safe aerospace packaging?

Yes. We have been manufacturing ESD-safe packaging since the early 1990s and produce both anti-static and conductive packaging for aerospace electronics, avionics, and sensor assemblies. Our ESD materials and processes are covered by our AS9100D quality system.

Can Kiva Container make aerospace packaging for very large components?

Yes. Our CNC router table at 120″ × 75″ and our thermoforming equipment handling substrates up to 46″ × 54″ allow us to build large-format packaging for structural assemblies, engine components, and oversized aerospace parts.

Who makes AS9100D certified packaging in Southern California?

Kiva Container, based in Anaheim, CA, is AS9100D / ISO 9001:2015 certified and manufactures aerospace packaging including thermoformed trays, corrugated plastic containers, and ESD-safe packaging. We are the only manufacturer in the region offering both corrugated and thermoformed packaging under one AS9100D-certified roof.

Does Kiva Container support first article inspection for aerospace packaging?

Yes. Our AS9100D quality system supports first article inspection (FAI). We work with customers to provide the dimensional, material, and process documentation required by their aerospace programs.

What is the lead time for new aerospace packaging programs at Kiva Container?

Lead times depend on part complexity, tooling requirements, and quality documentation needed. New thermoformed tooling programs typically run 4-8 weeks. Corrugated plastic programs with new die tooling run 2-4 weeks. Contact us at 714-630-3850 to discuss your program timeline.

Can Kiva Container make packaging that fits existing aerospace rack or transportation systems?

Yes. We engineer packaging to fit your specific rack footprint, container specs, or transportation system. Provide us with the interface dimensions and part specifications and we will design to fit.
